    The editor explains his supplement ἐν Τεβτ(ύνι) (?) as follows: "I presume that this line, like 1.8, projected about five letters farther to the left than the following lines. Otherwise there would not be space for the name of the town in which the contract was drawn up, and that information is expected from about 273 B.C. on" (

    , p. 220, l. 1 note). The supplement is unnecessary, however, because the location is regularly omitted in the inner script of first-century BCE double documents. The last example of its occurrence is (101 BCE). Cf., e.g., the roughly-contemporaneous (Herakleopolite, 72 BCE), whose inner script has only the date before the main verb of the contract. Sometimes even the date is missing: e.g., (Tebtunis, 87 BCE) and (Nestou Epoikion, 77 BCE).
